Larry Bishop

Larry Douglas Bishop, 55, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Columbus native was born June 12, 1956, the son of Frances Bishop Wiseman of Ironton and the late Douglas Murray Bishop. He is also survived by his wife, Kim Speaks Bishop, whom he married May 21, 1976.

Larry was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a former operator for Marathon Oil, retiring in 2007 after 30 years of service. He was an avid horseman and loved being outdoors. He attended the Lorain Street Gospel Mission in Ironton.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Barry Bishop; and a sister, Susan Darlene Bishop.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Kris Bishop of Ironton; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ryan Townsend of Ironton; three brothers, Steve Bishop and Marty Bishop both of Kitts Hill and Mark Bishop of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and a grandson, Beckett Townsend of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Jack Pemberton and Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Slabfork Cemetery and visitation will be today from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. David Pruitt

MILLER — David Allen Pruitt, 58, of Miller, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was the husband of Stacie Pruitt, who survives. Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Cleo Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Edward Carrico

CHESAPEAKE — Edward Arnold “Eddie” Carrico, 51, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
