A new trial date has been set for a Huntington, W.Va., man accused of shooting and killing an Ironton man this past summer.

Charles Edens, 22, will stand trial Jan. 17, 2012, in connection with the death of Auston Wells, 19. The trial date was initially set for Nov. 22 but was postponed to allow for more time to prepare the case.

Wells, 19, of Ironton, was shot to death Aug. 31 near the corner of Eighth and Madison streets in Ironton. Edens remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
