Athens downs Lady Pointers

BAINBRIDGE — Freshman Dominique Doseck scored 23 points in her first varsity game as the Athens Lady Bulldogs beat the South Point Lady Pointers 49-35 Friday in the Paint Valley Shootout.
Allison Mitchell had a game-high 24 points including a pair of 3-pointers to pace South Point (0-1). Brett Justice added six points and Erin Dillow five.
Athens led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter and stretched the lead to 25-11 at the half.
The Lady Bulldogs pulled away to a 42-25 advantage after three quarters and coasted to the win.
