An Ironton man who was chased by witnesses after allegedly attacking a woman for her purse and trying to get into her car was arraigned Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court.
Judge O. Clark Collins set bond at $200,000 for Gregory Scott Gannon, 28, and appointed Mike Davenport as his legal counsel. Gannon, charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping, must return to court Nov. 23 for a preliminary hearing.
Gannon was arrested Monday after he allegedly tried to get into a woman’s car as the Bartram and Sons grocery store at South Sixth and Pleasant streets.
When the victim fought back he allegedly grabbed her purse and fled but was chased by four witnesses who cornered him until police arrived.
The victim was not injured. Gannon remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
