The trial of a Huntington, W.Va., man arrested this summer for the shooting death of an Ironton man will commence with jury selection Nov. 21.
The date for Charles Edens’ trial was set Tuesday morning during a pretrial conference before Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge D. Scott Bowling.
Edens, 22, is accused of shooting to death Auston Wells, 19, of Ironton. Wells was shot during an incident near the corner of Eighth and Madison streets in Ironton Aug. 30.
Wells was taken to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky., where he died.
Edens turned himself in to Ironton police shortly thereafter. Police have not said what they believe is the motive for the shooting or how the two men knew each other.
Edens remains in the Lawrence County Jail under a $200,000 own recognizance bond and a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
