Deputies looking for early morning gunmen

CHESAPEAKE — Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for two masked gunmen who held up the McDonalds on Sandusky Road early this morning.

Sheriff Jeff Lawless said just after 5 a.m., two men armed with guns made their way into the eatery and left with an undetermined amount of money.

Asked if this holdup was related to others recently, such as the robbery of the Ironton Family Dollar Store, Lawless said he does not know at this time.

“Something’s going on and we want to get it stopped,” Lawless said.

Detectives remained on the scene as of 7 a.m. Additional details were not available as of press time.
