SOUTH POINT — Jeffrey V. Haynes, Sr., 68, of South Point passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 18, 1943, the son of the late Arlie Haynes and Betty Wilburn Sites. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly O’Neal Haynes, whom he married Dec. 3, 1988.
Mr. Haynes was a 1961 graduate of Ironton High School. He was a self-employed truck driver and mechanic, loved riding motorcycles and working on cars and lawnmowers. He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband and friend and always willing to help people in need.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an uncle: Hobe Wilburn.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Jeffrey V. Haynes Jr. and Angela Haynes of Kitts Hill; daughter and son-in-law: Virginia R. and George Anderson III of South Point; daughter: Clara Brooke Hardwick of Ashland, Ky.; son: Bryson Haynes of South Point; 10 grandchildren: Ella Daniels, Shelby Haynes, Christian Haller, Hunter Haynes, Danielle Hardwick, Justin Hardwick, George Anderson IV, Grace Worthington, McKenzie Hardwick, and Ace Anderson; brother: Larry Saunders of Kansas City; aunt: Dorothy Wilburn of Ironton; uncle: Wib Brammer of Cleveland; and two cousins: Patty Bowen and Kathy Blevins, both of Ironton.
