SOUTH POINT — The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the late-night robbery of the Grandview Inn in South Point this week.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless said at approximately 11:35 p.m. Monday, a white male wearing an orange ski mark walked into the motel lobby and brandished a small semi-automatic handgun. He demanded money and after the clerk gave it to him, he left on foot. His direction of travel is unknown.
Lawless said the suspect is described as between 18 and 30 years of age, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.
Surveillance video at the motel and video from other nearby businesses are being examined in an attempt to retrieve images of the suspect.
Lawless said anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call his office at (740) 532-3525.
