WILLOW WOOD — On Monday, July 18, 2011, our beloved Jim Malone went home to be with the Lord.
Jim lived all of his life in the Lawrence County area so he could stay close to his family. He was the son of James Conard, Sr. and Eloise Malone. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired employee of the Dow Chemical Company in Hanging Rock and a precious saint of God whose name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life on Sept. 12, 2009.
Jim is survived by his wife, Geneva. They were blessed together with 54 ½ years of marriage. He is also survived by three brothers, John Malone of Pataskala, Ernie Malone, of Centerville, and his beloved friend and brother, Larry Malone of Wilmington, Del. In addition to these, Jim is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Ron and Melinda Bodmer, Everett and Brenda Jenkins, and Randy and Cindy Mays, all of Willow Wood; four grandchildren, Jim Barnett of Willow Wood, Amanda Justice of Chesapeake, Clifton Jenkins of Wheelersburg, and Anna Bodmer, of Dallas, Texas; and his treasured great-grandchildren; Haleigh, Jordan, Isabelle, and Sophia.
Jim lived all his life to provide for his family, and to help so many of his friends, and to make thousands laugh at his creative, witty, and unique sense of humor. Jim had a long bout with leukemia, yet his joy was to bring laughter and kindness to all nurses and others who treated him, and to those who also suffered like him. He never once complained !! What a special man… A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21 at 5 p.m. at the Steel Workers Hall, 736 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY. Everyone is welcome. Jim Malone, we love you so… and we will see you again!
