Calvin Koster

SPRINGFIELD — Calvin Koster, 87, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011. He was born May 22, 1924 in Pedro, the son of John and Tina ( Arbaugh) Koster. Mr. Koster was a member of the New Carlisle Sportsman’s Club and the National Rifle Association. He was retired from the construction business. Survivors include his wife of 60 years. Hazel (Collins) Koster; three children, James (Roberta) Koster, Worthington, Ky., Dave (Linda) Nelson, Springfield and Lindsey (Irene) Spradlin, Westwood, Ky.; grandchildren, Phillip (Tammie) Koster, Sherry (Jeff) Bishop, Jeffrey (Lisa) Nelson, Diana (Donald) Comer, David (Rhonda) Nelson, Mark (Tracy) Nelson, Jody (Tony) Cox, Monica Metz, Mandy (Ron) Jordan and Lindsey (Tracy) Spradlin; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Kenneth (Naomi) Koster of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Ruby Koster, of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Nelson; three brothers, Clifford, Curtis and John Koster and his parents. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Joe McGlone officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Calvin’s family would like to give special thanks to his niece Rhonda for all of her loving care.
