County fair really for everyone

Just like the summer days that seem to be a hallmark of the annual event, the Lawrence County Fair is starting to heat up.
The fair is a showcase for the more than 400 youth who participate in 4-H every year.
But, it is so much more than that.
The fair is an entertainment destination. It is family friendly fun. It is an economic spark. It is a reunion of sorts for many people who only see each other one time a year.
All in all, the Lawrence County Fair is a celebration of small-town America and everything that makes our region so special.
Whether you want to go listen to some great local musical talent, purchase livestock to help out these youth or simply sample some funnel cake or other fair foods, the event should have something for everyone.
Some people make the mistake of thinking this is an eastern Lawrence County event. Or they have the misconception that this is only about farmers and those living in the rural areas of the county.
Neither of those could be farther from the truth.
The Lawrence County Fair offers something for everyone and is a throwback, in a way, to simpler times.
