SOUTH POINT — Helen Marie Webb Pierce, 87, of South Point, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at Heartland of Riverview.

The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Halsey and Myrtle Sexton Webb. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James E. Pierce, who passed away July 27, 2004.

Mrs. Pierce was a graduate of South Point High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dianne Pierce.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sue and John Lightfoot of Middleport, Patricia McCarley of Columbus, Gayle and Bill Gates of Columbus, and Barbara S. and Mike Stormes of Kitts Hill; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger D. Pierce of South Point, and Larry G. and Debra Pierce of Gallipolis; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Eugene Patrick of South Point; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Pauline Webb and Leonard and Betty Webb all of South Point; 13 grandchildren and14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
