Probation violation, drug offenses bring several to court

A probation violation and drug charges were among the accusations bringing people to Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Wednesday.

Tracie Staley-Watts, 30, of Ceredo, W.Va., admitted she violated her community control sanctions, also known as probation, when she failed to successfully complete a program at the STAR Community Justice Center. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced her to 8 months in prison. She was on probation for an earlier burglary conviction.

Steven Easterling, 34, of 2102 S. Eighth St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony, and possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Carol Jean Hampton. Bowling set a $25,000 own recognizance (OR) bond and ordered Easterling to return to court June 22 for a pretrial conference.

Kathleen Pinkerman-Marshall, 45, of Ashland, Ky., was arraigned on one count of possession of crack cocaine, a felony, and one count of misdemeanor theft. She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Mike Gleichauf. Bowling set bond at $25,000 cash, surety or property and added a $25,000 OR bond. She must return to court June 22 for a pretrial conference.

Joseph R. Thompson, 33, of 815 Lawrence St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of burglary. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Samantha Fields. Bowling set a $50,000 OR bond and scheduled a June 22 pretrial conference.

Albert W. Jenkins, 19, of 620 Lawrence St., Ironton, was arraigned on one count of trafficking in marijuana. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Warren Morford.

Bowling set a $ 20,000 OR bond and required Jenkins to submit to electronically monitored home confinement. Jenkins must return to court June 22 for a pretrial conference.
