The Ironton High School Varsity Singers have been selected to perform this fall at an Ohio School Board conference in Columbus.
The IHS singers will perform Nov. 15 at the Capital Conference Student Achievement Fair.
It is one of only five groups selected to perform that day. This is the first time the IHS singers have applied to sing. To be selected, music director Kathy Price submitted a DVD of the group’s spring showcase.
“This is a showcase for our students to perform in front of other school board members and superintendents and treasurers across the state. Thousands are in attendance to this conference,” Superintendent Dean Nance said.
“It’s an honor and I’m very pleased to be selected,” Price agreed.
The 20-minute performances will begin at noon. The IHS group is slotted to perform at 12:40 p.m.
