Herd’s Thomas leaves to turn pro overseas

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University says junior basketball player Johnny Thomas is leaving the school to pursue a pro career abroad.
Head men’s basketball coach Tom Herron announced the news Tuesday.
Thomas played one season for the Thundering Herd after transferring from North Carolina State University. He played in 30 games for Marshall and started 17, averaging 9.1 points per game.
