Reportedly injected bath salts in public restroom
An Ironton man pleaded guilty to possessing drug abuse instruments after police say he passed out in a public bathroom after injecting himself with bath salts.
Joshua Copley, 20, of 2524 S. Fifth St., pleaded guilty Monday in Ironton Municipal Court.
The Ironton Police Department arrested Copley Sunday afternoon after he was found in a bathroom at Speedway on Eighth Street and Park Avenue, according to a police report.
A clerk called police to check on the man, who had been in the restroom for three hours, according to the report. An officer arrived and knocked on the restroom door and Copley came out 15 minutes later. He told the officer he had been using needles in the bathroom.
Police recovered two syringes, a small black belt and an empty container of bath salt.
Copley was sentenced to one year of probation, a suspended 30-day jail sentence, 15 days in a work program and he was fined $200.
