Vikings roll past Eagles

BEAVER — The Symmes Valley Vikings held a hit parade Thursday.

The Vikings banged out 16 hits led by Jacob Patterson as they routed the Eastern Eagles 19-4 in a five-inning Southern Ohio Conference game.

Patterson went 5-5 with a home run, two doubles and seven runs batted in.

Cody Myers went 3-4 for the Vikings while Nathan Dockery and Hunter Boggs belted home runs.

Myers singled and Dockery homered in the first inning. Luke Taylor was hit by a pitch, stole second and third and scored on a passed ball to make it 3-0.

The lead went to 6-0 in the second when Myers singled, Dockery reached on an error, Taylor doubled and Patterson had a two-run single.

Mitchell Corn doubled and scored on an error in the third.

Symmes Valley erupted for nine runs in the fourth to lead 16-1.

Patterson led off with a home run. Alec Herrell then singled, Corey Brown walked and Boggs homered.

Evan Herrell was hit by a pitch, Corn and Myers singled, Dockery walked and Patterson had a three-run double. The final run scored on an error.

Corn got the win as he allowed just three hits. He struck out 10 and walked six.

Symmes Valley (10-6, 8-2) hosts Portsmouth Clay at noon Saturday in a doubleheader.
