FRANKLIN FURNACE — Not even a Broadway play could ask for a better stand-in.

Brown stuck out six and walked only one in her first varsity start.
“It’s rough on a team when their starting pitcher is ill and it’s a lot of pressure to ask a freshman to step in and lead the team like that, but Kaitlyn looked like a veteran pitcher tonight,” said Lady Pointers’ coach Tara Layne.
The Lady Pointers banged out 14 hits led by who Kayla Fletcher went 4-4 with two doubles and four runs batted in.
Hannah Carey was 3-34 with a double, triple and four RBI and Ashley Goodall 2-4 and four RBI.
