WHEELERSBURG– Thelma Mae Wolford, 76, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Thelma was born March 5, 1935, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Butler Glenn and Mattie Mullins Glenn. She was a former certified nurse’s aide and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hillsboro. She is survived by seven sons, Donald Sparks (Gail Telling) of South Shore; James Sparks and wife Sandy, of South Shore; Glen Sparks, of Galloway; Billy Sparks and wife Susan, of Franklin Furnace; Terry Sparks (Colleen Kelly) of Peebles; Gerry Sparks and wife Jaime, of Mt. Orab; Carl Joseph Wolford (Christina Redmond), of Amelia; one daughter, Brenda Lovett and husband Scott, of Hillsboro; one sister, Jean Warnock, of Portsmouth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Connie Holtzapfel, of Franklin Furnace. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Herschell Glenn. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. The funeral service will be private with interment at Firebrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
