Marshall fills vacant assistant football jobs

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall has named Gerad Parker as wide receivers coach and Todd Hartley to oversee the safeties.
Marshall coach Doc Holliday announced the hirings Friday.
Parker spent the past three seasons as the passing game and recruiting coordinator at Tennessee-Martin. He also served as the wide receivers coach in 2009.
Parker replaces Zach Smith, who left for a similar job at Temple
Hartley was a graduate assistant at Georgia in 2009 and 2010. He’ll replace Fred Tate, who moved to defensive line coach.
