Paul Beatty

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Paul “Pat” Carson Beatty, 93 of Long Beach, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at his home. Pat was born on Aug. 17, 1917, in Ironton, the son of the late George Carson Beatty and Stella Notter Beatty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother Richard “Dick” Beatty and wife Jean Gould Beatty. He is survived by his daughter Cindy, son-in-law John and grandchildren Danny and Teresa, whom he loved dearly.

Pat attended Kingsbury and Campbell Elementary schools and was a graduate of Ironton High School in 1935. He has very fond memories of growing up in Ironton, and held his hometown close to his heart. Pat was a World War II veteran-U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Washington (BB56) for the duration of the war, which was awarded 15 Bronze Stars. After serving in WWII he moved to Elgin, Ill., and later to Long Beach, where he resided for the past 58 years. Pat retired as a senior vice president for City National Bank of Beverly Hills, Calif.

Graveside services will be today at 12:30 p.m. in the Protection Garden at Forest Lawn Mortuary, Cypress, Calif.
