Thelma Brumfield

Thelma J. Brumfield, 88, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Jo-Lin Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Dutey) Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Brumfield, one brother, Charles Bowman, and two sisters: Hazel Slaughter and Marjorie Scherer.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna (Patrick) Scott of Columbus; two granddaughters, Erica (Eric) Ramey of Franklin Furnace and Elena (Steve Brown) of Belle Chasse, La.; three great grandchildren, Kolby Brown, Preston Ramey and Ashlyn Ramey; three sisters, Gladys (Gene) Simpson, Ruth Howell and Gertrude (Bob) Hanshaw, all of Florida; one brother, Bernard Bowman of Georgia.
