Man gets six months for break-in

An Ironton man who kicked the door in at a car dealership got six months in jail for the crime.
Jerry McKinley, 27, of 810 Chestnut St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree breaking and entering and misdemeanor resisting arrest. McKinley kicked in the door at Bob Clyse Chevrolet-Buick-GMC in Ironton.
The incident happened in January.
“I do apologize for taking up everyone’s time,” Mckinley told the court. “I’m not a bad guy. I’m not a criminal.”
Besides the six months in jail, Cooper also ordered McKinley to pay court costs.
In other cases:
Lennis Adkins, 41, of 1355 Cannonsburg Road, Ashland, Ky., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced Adkins to a suspended sentence of six months in jail and two years of non-reporting probation.
Adkins will also be required to pay $2,400 in restitution to the victim.
Madison Kelly, 23, of 55 Township Road 249 W., Ironton, admitted to violating the terms of his community-controlled sanctions by failing to report and testing positive for drugs.
Bowling sentenced Kelly to nine months in prison and ordered that his community-controlled sanctions be terminated.
Arthur Jenkins Jr., 34, of Logan, W.Va., pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.
Jenkins apologized to the court. “I’d like to apologize for coming to your state and doing the things I’ve done,” he said.
Bowling sentenced Jenkins to six months in prison with credit for time served and ordered him to pay court costs.
Samantha D. Pruitt, 28, of 145 State Route 650, Ironton, pleaded guilty to a bill of information that included drug theft, a fourth-degree felony. Bowling sentenced Pruitt to four years of community-controlled sanctions that includes successfully completing the STAR community sanctions program.
