The Redmen had just 16 rebounds and were guilty of 19 turnovers as they lost 55-42 to the River Valley Raiders Saturday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We just had too many turnovers and we didn’t rebound. That was the difference,” said Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds. “We gave up second shot after second shot.”

Rock Hill took a 13-10 first quarter lead as Andy Knipp scored five points. Cody Smith and Dominique Peck combined for River Valley’s 10 points.

Kyle Bryant and Derek Flint scored four points each in the second quarter as River Valley rallied to take a 24-19 halftime lead.

Each team scored 11 points in the third quarter and the Raiders remained ahead 35-30.

Austin Lewis scored six points in the fourth quarter and the Raiders converted 9 of 12 from the foul line to get the win.

Will McCollister scored eight points and Knipp seven to lead the offense for Rock Hill (4-9, 1-5). Knipp had six rebounds while Trey Wilds had three assists and Devin Darby and Knipp handed out two each.

Smith scored 16 for the Raiders (6-8, 3-3). Lewis added 10 points and Peck had nine.
