River Valley shoots its way past Coal Grove

BIDWELL — The River Valley Raiders like shooting on their home court.
The Raiders made 23 of 42 field goal attempts for 55 percent as they beat the Coal Grove Hornets 64-36 Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
River Valley took a 6-0 lead to start the game and never trailed.
The Raiders were up 16-5 at the end of the first quarter and led 34-13 at the half.
Aaron Harrison scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures for the Raiders (4-7, 2-2). Dominique Peck scored14, Austin Lewis 12 and Cody Smith 11.
Coal Grove (2-10, 0-4) was paced by Devin Monnier with 16 points. Austin Barker scored nine and Jacob Pauley eight.
Coal Grove plays Friday at Menifee County, Ky.
