PROCTORVILLE — Fairland Lady Dragons coach Jon Buchanan wants his team to focus on rebounding.

They’re focused.

The Lady Dragons pulled down 46 rebounds in a 72-30 win over the Green Lady Bobcats Thursday.

“We’re putting emphasis on rebounding the ball. We foul a little bit by doing it, but it’s part of the effort we’ve had going after the ball. We’re making it part of our mentality to go after the ball,” said Buchanan.

Kayla Swiger had eight rebounds while Alyssa Hessel and Samantha Lamb had six each as Fairland outrebounded Green by 20.

Chandler Fulks scored 17 points and Katie Fuller had 15 points as 10 different players scored.

Jenna Crawford had eight points and Gidget Timberman seven to lead Green.

Fulks hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the first quarter as Fairland jumped out to a 20-8 lead.

Fulks came back to score seven in the second quarter as the Lady Dragons opened up a 43-18 cushion.

“Our pressure the last two games has been tremendous. They’ve done a good job getting after it and turning the defense into offense,” said Buchanan. “Chandler got us off to a good start and got us rolling.”

Fairland plays at Wellston on Monday.
