Sheriff’s reports

Burglary – 5900 block of County Road 1, South Point, Dec. 17, man says house was burglarized. Jewelry, clothing reportedly taken.

Domestic violence – 600 block of Pemberton Avenue, Chesapeake, Dec. 18, man alleges that his brother was intoxicated and arguing with his girlfriend. Woman alleged he shoved her. Scott A. Jones, 34, of 677 Pemberton Ave., Chesapeake, arrested.

Drug trafficking – 100 block of Private Drive 3, Chesapeake, Dec. 18, deputy dispatched on a drug trafficking complaint. Woman allegedly admits that she and a man are selling oxycodone drugs that they get from Florida. Another man allegedly admits to being a seller. Dana Nichols, 32, of 104 Private Drive 3, Apt. 11, Chesapeake, arrested and taken to jail for trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs and endangering children.

Criminal simulation – 6300 block of State Route 7, Proctorville, Dec. 7, Kroger manager alleges the store received a counterfeit $20 bill.

Assault – Township Road 1334, South Point, Dec. 18, woman alleges that her aunt struck her in the forehead and pulled her hair. Suspect named.

Theft – 15300 block of State Route 243, Chesapeake, Dec. 22, woman alleges that her son took her credit card and used it without permission. James C. Elkins, 32, of 15364 State Route 243, Chesapeake, arrested and taken to jail.

Theft – 500 block of Private Drive 8323, Proctorville, Dec. 22, man alleges that medication was taken from his bedroom closet.

Ironton Police

Trouble – Fuzzy Duck, 12:40 a.m. Friday, man reports that a man is beating another man near the flood wall. Negative contact, left prior to arrival.

Suspicious person – Seventh and Hecla streets, 1:21 a.m. Friday- woman reports a man wearing a ski mask walking between houses. Negative contact.

Need to file report – 4:10 a.m. Friday, man reportedly keeps calling McDonald’s and asking sexual questions.

Child abuse – 6:30 a.m. Friday, man reports severe bruising in the shape of a hand print on his 4-year-old granddaughter. Children’s services determined incident happened in Kentucky, contact made with their officials for further follow up.

Theft – 2100 block of South Fourth Street, 9:11 a.m., Friday man reports that someone broke into his garage and stole tools. Information filed for report.

Visitation violation – 12:30 p.m. Friday, woman alleges she was supposed to pick up her child for visitation and the other parent didn’t bring the child. Log only.

Domestic abuse – 800 block of South Ninth Street, 2:03 p.m. Friday, woman reports a man is fighting with her and refuses to leave. Male party agreed to leave.

Burglary – 600 block of Cliff Street, 8:40 p.m., woman reports someone broke into her house and stole her children’s presents. Information for report.

Knocking on doors – 2200 block of South Seventh Street, 10:35 p.m., caller reports someone keeps knocking on door and then leaving before it’s answered. Checked the area, negative contact. Neighbor said he would check up on the house in the evening.

Suspicious vehicle – Moose Lodge, 12:48 a.m., Saturday, man reports a suspicious vehicle on the lot. Negative contact.

Heard noises – 500 block of North Fifth Street, 5:04 a.m. Saturday, woman reports she heard someone tried to turn her doorhandle. Checked the area, negative contact.

Vandalism – 12:05 p.m., Kwik Stop Carryout, caller reports someone threw a brick through a window. Information for report.

Assault – 11:40 p.m. Saturday, man reports he was picking up his wife from her mother’s and her father threw something and tried to break window. All parties advised.
