Baseball/softball umps plan licensing class

The Ironton Chapter of high school baseball and softball umpires will conduct an umpiring class beginning Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Chesapeake Middle School.

The class covers rule interpretation, mechanics, live on the field work, and all state testing.

Once the testing is completed, candidates will be licensed to umpire baseball or softball in the state of Ohio.

Class fee is $125 for one sport and $225 for both.
