Rachel Suzanne Townsend and James “Jay” Russell Layman were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at the wedding chapel in Catlettsburg, Ky. A reception was held following the ceremony at Paul Porter Park in Coal Grove.

Rachel is the daughter of Richard and Robin Townsend of Willow Wood. She graduated from Symmes Valley High School in 2006. Grandparents of the bride are Bob and Betty Nance of Kitts Hill and Richard and Shirley Townsend of Scottown.

Jay is the son of Jeffery and Leigh Hughes of Chesapeake and James Layman of South Point. He graduated in 2003 from South Point High School and Collins Career Center.

The couple will reside in the Chesapeake area.
