An Ironton man accused of felony domestic violence and kidnapping has denied the allegations.
Homer W. Anson, 22, of 44 County Road 7C, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
The kidnapping charge comes from Anson allegedly prohibiting his girlfriend from leaving the house for two days, Assistant Prosecutor Brigham Anderson said.
If convicted, Anson faces up to five years for the third-degree felony domestic violence charge and up to eight years in prison for the second-degree felony kidnapping charge. Those sentences would likely run concurrently because they stem from the same incident, for a total of up to eight years in prison, Anderson said.
Anson’s attorney Warren Morford told the court his client takes issue with both charges and that the victim does not want the man prosecuted.
