OLBH Lights of Love celebration Dec. 7

Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) invites the community to join in the 27th installment of the hospital’s Lights of Love celebration Tuesday, Dec. 7.

Festivities begin at 6:15 p.m. with entertainment at the front entrance of the hospital with the Raceland-Worthington High School Chamber Singers and the Adult Handbell Choir from Advance United Methodist Church, Flatwoods under the direction of Diana Williams.

The annual tree lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

With a $5 donation to Lights of Love, a Christmas light on the tree will be dedicated in honor or memory of a loved one.

Proceeds benefit the hospital’s Lifeline service – a home-emergency response unit that provides seniors assistance with just the push of a button.

The Lifeline system is a unit connected to the telephone, allowing the Lifeline user to utilize a small remote control to signal for help in the event an emergency.

A call center is notified to send help when signaled.

Decorate a gingerbread house Dec. 7

CATLETTSBURG, Ky. — Boyd County Public Library is offering two chances to decorate a gingerbread house on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The free class is being offered two times at the branch, 2704 Louisa St. People can register for either the 10:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. session.

See ‘A Christmas Carol’ Dec. 6

ASHLAND, Ky. — Boyd County Public Library is hosting two showings of “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” in December.

The film will be shown at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave., on Monday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. It will also be the Second Saturday Screening at Summit on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.

That branch is located at 1016 Summit Road, across from Boyd County Middle School.

Admission to either showing is free, and some refreshments are provided. Additional snacks can be purchased.
