Ironton’s playoff

tickets now on sale

Tickets are on sale for the Ironton vs. Sparta Highland Division IV Region 15 semifinal playoff game at Logan High School on Friday.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the gate. Ironton only receives a percentage of the presale. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance to not only help the school but save themselves $2 per ticket.

Tickets will be on sale until 2 p.m. Friday during business hours at Bob Linn Sporting Goods and the auto shop office behind the high school.

Free hunter safety course offered

The Ohio Department of Wildlife will offer a free hunter safety course from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 15-17, at Ohio University Southern campus.

There will be a limit of 50 students. To register in advance at 1-800-WILDLIFE (1-800-945-3543).

Vikings’ powder puff game rescheduled

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings will play their annual powder puff game at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the high school. This was postponed from last Thursday due to bad weather.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Concessions will be available. Proceeds will go toward the Viking Incentive Program.

Marshall QB Club

meets Wednesday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall University Quarterback Club’s weekly luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pullman Plaza Hotel in downtown Huntington. Head coach Doc Holliday will address the crowd along with several individuals associated with the 1970 and 1971 Marshall football teams who will also speak.

The event is open to the public. Cost is $12 and includes food and beverages.

Herd basketball fans

invited to Tip Off

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Fans of Marshall basketball are invited to a Tip Off Club Membership Party from 5-7 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center.

Fans can watch the team prepare for the 2010-11 season. At the conclusion of practice those in attendance are invited to join Coach Herrion and the team in the Hartley Room for some light appetizers and beverages.

There is no charge to attend the event and it is open to the public. If you have any questions please contact Teddy Kluemper in the Big Green office at 304-696-3401.

OSU-Michigan tix

to be raffled

Ironton in Bloom and the Ironton Tiger Clan athletic booster club have teamed up for a fundraiser.

The group will be raffling two football tickets to the Michigan at Ohio State game.

There are only 500 tickets available for a $10 donation price.

Tickets will be sold by contacting Jan Wolfe at (740) 5332-1030 or Jay Zornes at (740) 533-7000. Tickets are also available from members of Ironton in Bloom and the Tiger Clan.
