Kids Fun Day helps bond community

When the Village of Hanging Rock decides to have a community event, it goes all out and makes sure that the community is in fact a big part of it.
The small village hosted its annual Kids Fun Day this past weekend, attracting a good crowd that wanted to enjoy the family friendly atmosphere.
We applaud the village for making the effort and taking the time to do this because it shows that a little cooperation and involvement can truly build bonds within a community to make it stronger.
It is often perceived that small government bodies like village councils cannot make an impact. This is proof that this is not true.
The village councilwomen and other volunteers went above and beyond the call of duty to create the event that showcased the charm and appeal of small-town America.
For that they are recognized as this week’s “Good News, Good Neighbors” feature.
Naysayers and critics might try to say that this annual event doesn’t serve any real good and is a waste of time. Those individuals would be way off base.
This Kids Fun Day brought the community together, showed leadership by its officials and made for a stronger community. That is time well spent.
