Ashland woman gets 6 years for burglary

An Ashland, Ky. woman will serve six years in prison for a burglary charge.
Rebekah I. Sawyers, 24, of 1701 Clements Drive, Apt. 121, Ashland, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Wednesday for one count of burglary, a second-degree felony. Sawyers was also ordered to pay court costs.
Also in court Wednesday, Crystal D. Black, 22, of 1097 County Road 1, Apt. 21, South Point, pleaded guilty to burglary, theft of drugs, grand theft and possession of drugs. Black was sentenced to six years in prison.
In other cases:
Royce E. Thacker III, 25, of 142 Private Drive 411, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated robbery. Thacker is accused of robbing a 13-year-old and 14-year-old at knifepoint behind Granny’s in Ironton in August.
Thacker’s bond of $100,000 from a lower court was continued in this case. A pretrial hearing has been set for Oct. 13.
Rebekah Greer, 29, of 2132 Thomas St., Ashland, Ky., pleaded guilty to attempted possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Greer was sentenced to four years of community-controlled sanctions and ordered to pay a mandatory fine of $1,250. Greer was arrested during a drug raid at the Country Hearth Motel in South Point in August.
Ryan A. Allen, 21, of 2629 S. Ninth St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to aggravated drug trafficking and possession of marijuana. Judge D. Scott Bowling has set bond at $50,000 of his own recognizance and $10,000 cash or surety. A pretrial hearing has been set for Oct. 13.
Jeremy D. Logsdon, 28, of 717 1/2 Ashtabula St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to aggravated drug possession and possessing drug instruments. Bond has been set at $50,000 OR and $10,000 cash or surety.
David A. Jackson, 29, of 230 Rock Ave., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs. Bond was set at $50,000 OR. A pretrial hearing has been set for Oct. 20.
Richard Sharp, 47, of 1014 1/2 N. Third St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to two counts of complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine and two counts of permitting drug abuse. Sharp will be sentenced in five weeks.
Rusty Patrick, 19, of 287 Township Road 616, South Point, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs. Patrick will be sentenced in two weeks.
