Bichon Frise dog was more than just the family pet

I truly enjoy the articles in Sunday’s papers by Tony and Kate Barker.
My daughter owned a beautiful Bichon Frise dog for approximately 17 years, and a few months ago, Kitty disappeared out of their yard.
She was well taken care of and received plenty of attention by being in a large family.
Kitty lived just a few blocks from me, and, of course, I was her Mamaw. Also, I was her babysitter when the family was on vacation,
Even though Kitty stayed with me, her Mamaw, while the family was gone, she was restless until her family came home. I always told my daughter to bring an article of her clothing for Kitty to sleep on, for Kitty missed her very much. Once she slept in a baby basket with one of my dolls.
It’s a shame, after being in a good home for 17 years that someone would take her away, and we as a family, know she would grieve herself.
Kitty’s health was failing her and she too was forming cataracts. She, being older now, wanted to sleep a lot. I know she misses us as much as we miss her.
I believe one day we will see her again, when this life is over.
Some may disagree, but God created all animals. To us, some are beautiful, some to us ugly, some scary. But God loves us also, whether we’re pretty or not. We are his creation.
May God bless you all who read. I am praying Kitty is loved out there somewhere. I pray one day she will be standing on my front porch swinging her beautiful long bushy white tale, thinking, “Mamaw, let me in. It’s Kitty.”
Thank you, Tony and Kate, for helping us to understand more about our pets through your articles about dogs.
