The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released the name of a driver involved in a wreck on State Route 93 around 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Sarah Kingery, 36, of South Point, and her 13-year-old daughter were injured in the accident, according to a press release.

Kingery’s vehicle was traveling north on the road near milepost 1. As she approached the intersection of Porter Gap Road, she swerved to avoid a vehicle that was stopped in the left lane preparing to turn left onto Porter Gap.

Kingery lost control of the vehicle, crossed the southbound lanes and went off the left side of the roadway striking a guardrail.

Her vehicle became airborne, struck a tree, and went over an embankment where she and her 13-year-old daughter were trapped in the vehicle.

Upper Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and freed Kingery and her daughter by mechanical means.

Both victims were flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Kingery was in fair condition, said Charles Shumaker, Cabell Huntington Hospital spokesman.

The crash remains under investigation.
