Bobby Joe “Bob” Vaughn, 54, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 14, 1956, the son of the late John Paul and Mary Joann Hixon Vaughn. He is survived by his wife, Linda Case Vaughn, whom he married July 10, 1982.
Bob was a graduate of Ironton High School and a former brakeman for the C & O Railroad, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Lawrence Lodge 198, F&AM, former member of the Ironton City Council and the Ironton City School Board. He was also a member of the I Care About Good Government and an Ironton Fighting Tiger fan.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Paul Vaughn Jr. and David Lynd Vaughn.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Shari and Jerry Mayer of Russell, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be noon Friday at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Debbie Hixon officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
