All good things must come to an end.

The end of the St. Joseph Flyers’ two-game winning streak came to an end Saturday as they fell 6-1 to the Alexander Spartans in a soccer match.

“Alexander played a very fast-pace and controlled game on the way to their win,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair.

“Alexander is a well-coached team that demonstrated sportsmanship and discipline.”

Payton Blair scored the only goal for the Flyers who had 13 shots on goal to 14 for the Spartans.

“The Flyers played well and we had our chances, but we could not get anything going,” said coach Blair.

Alexander’s scoring came from Chase Gould and Jonah Hensley with two each while Ben Doughty and Josiah Yazdani scored one each.

The Flyers visit Ohio Valley Christian in Gallipolis at 6 p.m. Monday.
