George William “Billy” Brown III, 40, of Ironton, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Dec. 3, 1969, the son of George W. “Bill” Jr. and Patricia A. Stewart Brown of Ironton.
Billy was a 1988 graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former welder at Leiberts and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Dorothy Brown; and his maternal grandparents, Ray and Hazel Stewart.
In addition to his parents, he was also survived by three sons, Jacob Brown, Jimmy Brown and Jorden Brown, all of Ironton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Vanessa Brown of Summerville, S.C. and Thomas and Cindy Brown of Windsor, Colo.; and his companion, Joanie Igo.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 25, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton with Father Mark Moore and Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
