GALION — Gertrude Clark, 61, of Galion, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Galion Community Hospital. The Lawrence County native was born April 7, 1949, the daughter of the late Samuel “Jack” Jenkins and Stella Hunley Jenkins.
Mrs. Clark was born and raised in Lawrence County and attended Ironton High School. She was of the Apostolic Faith and a former machine operator for Just Plastics in Galion.
She is survived by her husband, Paris Clark whom she married July 23, 1966; three daughters, Kim and Frank Strong of Marion, LaShonda Clark of Shelby and LaRonda Clark of Galion; a brother, Charles and Doris Combs of Obetz; three sisters, Peggy Delawder of Ironton, Betty Jean and Phillip Johnson of Galion and Jackie Jenkins of Portsmouth; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Oscar and Ike Jenkins; and two sisters, Mary Williams and Sarah Nance.
Funeral service will be Friday 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Howard and Pastor Buddy Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery in Lawrence County. Friends may call tonight from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that donations in Gertrude’s memory be sent to Phillips Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
