Man gets four years for drug trafficking

A Proctorville man has been sentenced to four years in prison for drug trafficking. Patrick Weaver, 24, of 44 Township Road 1161 4D in Proctorville, pleaded guilty Wednesday to five counts of aggravated drug trafficking charges, two counts of complicity to commit drug trafficking and one count of engaging in corrupt activity.
Also at Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Wednesday, Nickie L. Lyons, 21, of 721 Vine Street in Ironton, was sentenced to two years in prison with the last five months of the sentence to be served at STAR Community Justice Center.
Lyons was charged with violating the terms of her community-controlled sanctions by testing positive for drug use on four occasions.
Also on Wednesday, Shawn Collins, 21, of Sciotoville, was sentenced to eight months in prison for a parole violation. Collins’ original charges included breaking and entering and the contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
John Cassity, 31, of South Point, was sentenced to six months of STAR and four years of parole for violating his probation. Cassity’s original charges were two counts of theft.
