Lady Dragons get by Rock Hill

PROCTORVILLE — Sashe Burcham was at it again.

Burcham turned in her second straight strong outing as she fired a 3-hitter to lead the Fairland Lady Dragons past the Rock Hill Redwomen 6-4 Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Burcham struck out 12 and did not walk a batter. However, she hit two batters and both scored.

Fairland (4-3, 1-0) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

Chelsey Stanley walked, moved to third base on two passed balls and scored on Stormie Spitzer’s sacrifice bunt. Jaimie Phillips and Keri Pinkerman singled and Burcham had a two-run single.

The lead was 5-0 in the second when Chloe Stanley reached on an error, Phillips singled and Pinkerman had a two-run double.

Rock Hill (2-5,1-2) scored twice in the third on a hit batsman, a fielder’s choice and an error.

Fairland got a run in the fourth on a double by Chelsey Stanley and an error.

Rock Hill used a hit batsman and a double by Dani Crabtree to get a run in the fifth and they scored in the sixth on a triple by Chelsea Harper and an error.
