Louis E. Unrue, 73, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
The Ironton native was born March 5, 1937, the son of the late Ernest and Harriet Burton Unrue.
Mr. Unrue attended Ironton and Pedro Schools and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8850 and the Moose Lodge 701. He was also a former oven operator for the Dayton Malleable Iron Company and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Unrue Wilson and a brother, John Unrue.
He is survived by his former wife, Janice Unrue of Ironton; a daughter, Vicki Unrue and her sons, Isaac and Isaiah all of Ironton; a son, Terry Unrue and his companion, Heather Waddle and his son, Michael and daughter, Jaylyn all of Ironton; a daughter-in-law, Tonja Unrue of Ironton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Libby Unrue of Bradenton, Fla., and William and Beatrice Unrue of Mobile, Ala.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Grace and Jerry Murphy of Ironton, Marilyn Moore of Bonita Springs, Fla., Charlene Sizemore of Naples, Fla., and Sarah Large of Hanging Rock; three step-sons and their spouses, Tony and Karen Collingsworth of Gallipolis, Dallas and Ranee Collingsworth of Rio Grande, and Jimmy Dean and Brenda Collingsworth of Ironton; a stepdaughter and her spouse, Tammy and Roger Hanshaw of Ironton; eight step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Ice Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
