Flood warning issued for county

LAWRENCE COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Lawrence County as water from recent rains continue to flow into the Ohio River.
The river was at 47 feet at 4 a.m. Monday. Flood stage is 50 feet. The forecast calls for the river to continue to rise to 50.6 feet by midnight. Minor flooding is expected. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
Gallia County, Boyd County, Ky., Greenup County, Ky., Cabell, W.Va, Mason, W.Va, and Wayne County, W.Va. are also included in the warning.
The NWS advises drivers not to drive into areas where water is flowing over the roadway.
