SOUTH POINT — Ruth E. Simpson Kelley, 89, of South Point, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born May 24, 1920, the daughter of the late James and Effie Hughes Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Kelley, who passed away May 24, 2005.
She was a homemaker and was of the Nazarene faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Simpson, Ralph Simpson, and Emmett Simpson and three sisters, Mayme Sark, Verna Mae Perkins, and Norma Hall.
She is survived by three stepdaughters, Beverly and Gene Bokovitz of Massillon, Nancy and Charlie McCleas of Naples, Fla., and Shelly Burdette of Brunswick and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Rose Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
