Coupon program can help you save

ASHLAND, Ky. — Learn how to trim some fat from your family budget at a special Boyd County Public Library program later this month.

Coupon Clipping 101 starts at noon Thursday, Feb. 18, at the Main Branch, 1740 Central Ave.

BCPL Information Services Supervisor Jamie Bayne, a coupon clipping expert, will introduce participants to the world of savings found by using coupons and matching them with store sales.

The class is designed for the novice, and will feature tricks and tips to make couponing easy and friendly.

See ‘Fame’ at Summit branch

SUMMIT, Ky. — The monthly After-School Movie at the Summit Branch of Boyd County Public Library is “Fame,” – the 2009 version – showing at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17.

The Summit Branch is located at 1016 Summit Road, across from Boyd County Middle School. Admission is free and some refreshments are provided. Additional snacks can be purchased.

The film, rated PG, is a remake of the 1980 musical and centers on students at the New York Academy of Performing Arts.

The monthly after-school movies (third Wednesday) at Summit are held in conjunction with the 21st Century Community Learning Center at the middle school. There is also a monthly book club and craft programs.

Other upcoming movies at the Library include: “The Time Traveler’s Wife (Girls’ Night Out) on Feb. 24; and “Whip It” on March 1. Both are being shown at the Main Branch in Ashland.
