SHARON CLASSING

SOUTH POINT — Sharon Kay Classing, 62, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009, after a very courageous and inspiring battle with cancer.
She was born June 1, 1947 in Ironton, the daughter of Joe Chatfield and Georgianna “Ann” Eaches Chatfield. Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Ironton High School and attended Solida Baptist Church in South Point.
She was saved and baptized during the Spring Revival at Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church in 1958. Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Joe Chatfield; sister-in-law, Linda Cochran; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles F. Sr., and Eloise Classing.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, C. Fred Classing, Jr., whom she married on April 14, 1967; her mother, Georgianna “Ann” Chatfield of Ironton; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Classing of South Point; Stephen Classing of Dublin; and Michael and Erica Classing, of Columbus; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ed Pierson of Ironton; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Margot Chatfield of Loveland; two aunts, Eleanor (Bill) Peterson of Hecla and Catherine Chatfield of Ironton; one uncle, Dick (Wanda) Eaches of South Point; two nieces: Beth Ann Cochran of Anderson, Ind.; Denise (Doug) Gambill of Columbus; one nephew Jim (Tiffany) Pierson of Ironton; three great-nieces: Ashton Heck, of Anderson, Ind. Shelby Gambill of Columbus and Camryn Pierson of Ironton; one great-nephew, Jake Heck, of Anderson, Ind., and many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Childers officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
