Dixie Davis, 92, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at a local health care center. The Pike County, Ky. native was born Dec. 31, 1916, the daughter of the late D.H. Butler and Rose McCabe Butler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Davis, who passed away in 1953.
Mrs. Davis attended school in Pike County, Ky., was a homemaker and a former dietary aide at Doctors Hospital in Columbus and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Daryl Davis and Daniel Davis;
eight brothers, Robert Butler, Harold Butler, Warren Butler, J.C. Butler, Billy Butler, Grover Butler, David Butler, and Lonnie Butler; four sisters, Leona Butler, Rissie Butler, Carmon Sanders, and Grace Damron; and a great grandson, Jason Hamilton.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Hamilton and Connie and Terry Lee Mowery, all of Ironton;
13 grandchildren;    19 great grandchildren;      6 great great grandchildren; and two brothers,  James Butler of Drift, Ky. and  John J. Butler of Ironton.
