DAYTON — Mary Frances Large, 83, of Dayton, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Kettering Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1926, in Ironton to the late Edward and Ethel Anson Dean. She was the widow of the late Kenneth Wayne Large.
She was retired from General Motors after 21 years of service. She did volunteer work at Kettering Hospital. She loved traveling, shopping and being around people sharing her outgoing personality. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Mark Kevin, her parents, brothers; Homer Dean, Harold Dean and Charles Dean.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Peggy and Jim Tinkham of Mansfield, and Ms. Debra Large of Kettering; granddaughters; Stacy Lee and her husband, Jeff, Krista Carpenter and her husband, Corey, of Mansfield; a grandson, Adam Berardo of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Eric and Bryce Lee and Baylee Carpenter, all of Mansfield; a sister, Bertha Letts of Mansfield, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Sandy Dean, Jerry Dean of Mansfield, Don and Kathleen Dean of Fredericktown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy and Debbie wish to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Gardenview for their loving support and the care of the ER team at Kettering Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton with Brother Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
