Everett R. Eaches, 94, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Oct.7, 2009, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born May 18, 1915, the son of the late Arch and Bertha Justice Eaches. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Alice Hager Eaches, who passed away Aug. 7, 2002.
Mr. Eaches was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a former superintendent for the City of Ironton Street Department and was a member of Central Christian Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Eaches.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Don Baker of Ironton; five grandchildren, Christi Reams of Westerville, Julie Baker of Bowling Green, Amy Murphy of Winter Haven, Fla., Stephen Baker of Detroit, Mich., and Jeremy Baker of Wake Forest, N. C.; four great grandchildren, Dan Reams, Samantha Reams, Morgan Murphy, and Logan Baker.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Minister Hoyt Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
